Beyond Transactions
At SPE Specialists, much of our work is centered around structuring complex real estate transactions. It’s detail-oriented, execution-driven, and focused on delivering stability and precision for our clients.
But every now and then, there are opportunities to step back and engage with the bigger picture.
Recently, we had the privilege of sponsoring Hands On Atlanta’s High Five Party, joining a group of organizations including Amazon, Fiserv, Alston & Bird, Publix, and The LaRocco Companies. The event celebrated the impact of thousands of volunteers working to strengthen communities across Atlanta. While the scale and diversity of organizations involved were impressive, what stood out most was the shared sense of purpose and supporting a meaningful non-profit.
Hands On Atlanta is a community-based organization that tackles the city’s most pressing challenges by connecting and mobilizing thousands of volunteers with nonprofits, schools, and service opportunities, focusing on areas like educational equity, food security, and environmental sustainability. As a leading voice for civic engagement, the organization partners with businesses and community leaders to drive impact and help build a more equitable, engaged Atlanta.
A Common Thread Across Different Industries
Each organization represented comes from a different industry, operates at a different scale, and serves a different function within the broader economy. Yet, events like this highlight a common understanding: strong communities are foundational to everything we do.
In real estate especially, the long-term value of any asset is directly tied to the surrounding environment, the people who live and work there, and the overall health of the community. Investment, development, and growth all depend on that foundation. It really is core to the industry.
Continuing the Work
Experiences like this serve as a reminder that our work extends beyond transactions. Real estate is ultimately about people, places, and the systems that connect them.
We’re grateful to be part of a network of organizations committed to strengthening Atlanta and look forward to continuing to invest in the communities where we operate.
Because at the end of the day, the strength of any deal, asset, or portfolio is rooted in the strength of the community around it.
